The Chamber provides an opportunity for those involved in the business community to both meet and become involved with like minded individuals and organizations.
The areas the Chamber focuses on are Amesbury, Bulford, Durrington, Larkhill, Netheravon and Shrewton where it draws its membership.
The Chamber aims to further its members' business interests by providing focus for the promotion of retail business, commercial enterprise and a tourist area with Stonehenge, one of the world's most famous prehistoric monuments on its doorstep, by acting as a representative for the business community in local issues and providing a forum to discuss matters of interest.
The intent of the Chamber is to achieve this by:
- Raising the profile of the area as an active business, retail shopping
and tourist facility. This can be achieved by promoting events such as: the Annual
Christmas Market; the Christmas lights; the Carnival and Festival Weekends; editorials in
the local press; effectively using the Chambers' Website; themed local and national
promotions and by encouraging innovative ideas.
- Liaising on local planning, traffic, parking and crime prevention matters
by direct negotiations with the Police and the Local Authority from our position of
strength in numbers.
- Regular meetings with informative guest speakers providing updates on current issues and the opportunity to openly discuss peoples concerns, opinions and successes with like minded business people. Attending meetings is not compulsory for membership.
