NEWS: Successful Evening for Local Businesses, Thursday, 8th November, 2007
Eighteen exhibitors gathered for the first ever Stonehenge Chamber of Trade Business to Business Exhibition at The George Hotel in Amesbury from 4:00pm to 7:00pm, allowing people to visit on their way home from work. Helen White, from Vernon Marshal Accountants (one of the exhibitors) and treasurer for the chamber, said "I am delighted that so many people from the business community and other organisations came along to the exhibition, this is an excellent opportunity for businesses in the service industry to show what is available locally''.
The recently reformed Chamber of Trade, previously called the Amesbury Chamber of Trade, used this exhibition to help re-launch people's awareness of the chamber. "The name change is very significant. Stonehenge encompasses the whole area, so businesses from the surrounding area can feel equally a part of this chamber and even more so we have a strong desire to help to promote tourism both nationally and internationally, with one of the world's best known monuments on our doorstep, we see very little benefit and in time we hope to change this," said committee member Keith Flint of Bodyworks Fitness Studio.
Membership secretary Zaina Pearce, of hairdressers Zaina's, said on behalf of the chamber "We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the businesses who exhibited and The George Hotel for putting on a wonderful buffet and their hospitality and all the various forms of media who helped promote this event."
